Does anyone have a preference on which car mount to use for the SDS150. Cup holder or vent mount or suction cup. I had a homemade mount for my SDS100 but I have a different vehicle now and that will not work. I have looked on amazon but nothing struck my fancy. Thank you in advance

What month is it?
The belt clip 'nubbin' on the back of the radio is the same size as the 'nubbin' on the back of a 2-way radio microphone.
Lots of different ones available - I'm sure you can find something that will work well for you.
I just used a metal Motorola 2-way microphone dash clip I had.
I also replaced the radio's plastic 'nubbin' with a metal one.

That was going to be one of my options but wasn't sure how much it would wiggle/wobble
That's the problem with my cup holder. It's too big and the scanner just falls and slides around. I have one of those Weathertech cup mounts but it won't secure it properly. Been using the supplied clip and attaching it between the steering wheel and plastic trim under the wheel. It works but it's not ideal. I would just use the clip and attach it to my sunvisor but I get nervous being that it's pretty visible and technically not legal for most in my state to drive with a scanner in their vehicle. Don't want to chance getting the thing confiscated though I've honestly never heard of that happening to anyone in my state.

I move mine around a lot so I keep it in the Scannermaster Hard Leather Case and use the Ram Mount Large X-Grip to hold it. Keeps it still.

I have that one for my SDS100 mounted in my Tacoma. Had to add foam tape to keep it from swiveling a lot. Does the job though. Since I was planning on moving my SDS150 between vehicles when I travel, I ended up with the Ram mount for the cupholder.

I got this one on Amazon. I couldn't tell you offhand what brand it is, but the right side of the "T" came with a cellphone holder, which I removed. I repurposed the screws to keep the radio clips from sliding around. It's also height-adjustable at the joint about halfway up the shaft, and has expansion pads that come out of the base (using the knob at the base) to fit it securely into the cup holder.

Three people I know bought these mounts and say they are OK. If fits into the vehicles cupholder and snugs in well, but the scanner still swivels around some. It just will not lock it in place very securely. That is why I am still searching for a mount too. Why Uniden went with the whole swivel thing is beyond me.

In my previous car when I had my sds100 I had a homemade cell phone holder made of metal. I had an old magnetic mike holder and a super strong magnet that worked well and because the weight of the sds100 high enough it stayed pretty much in place. I have a different vehicle now so I hope this works at least as well on my sds150 which is due to arrive on Monday

While I can't drive. I can visualize your description in my mind. It even makes me think of:

Rock Around The Clock as it spins in the cupholder.

I like the Lido mounts! But I use the seat wedge mount setup , look for Lido seat wedge mount for the SDS 100/150 on ebay and you will find it!
The mount has many adjustments and it keeps the scanner in place, the cup holder mounts are too loose or they break too easy.
I'm very happy with this mount. Of course you need a middle console! so you can set it up between the seat and the console.
