How or what is the easiest way to change my display? I played with it on Sentinel this morning and tried to program it but it didn't work, I want a black background and a lime green font.

That's a great question for the Uniden thread rather than general scanning. Just click on REPORT on the lower left corner and ask the mods to move it for you. Please do not start a new thread, as double posting isn't allowed.
That said, if you use the search function in the upper right you may find the answer you are looking for, I did.
