I have my sds200 connected via ethernet cable directly to my modem. On my laptop I’m using Proscan to connect to it for I can access my scanner when I’m not home. It works fine but seems like it disconnects every two/three days. Then I have to turn the scanner off and back on. Then it works again for a few days.

I contacted PROSCAN directly. He told me to post it here to see if anyone else has had this issue.

The problem is DHCP and your Router set your SDS200 to a Static Address on your home network and your problems will go away.
I run Proscan without setting a static address and it works fine for my scanners., one of which is the Evansville Feed. But, that being said setting a static address for the scanner is a great idea to help stop it from random IP assignments.

Ok. I’ll look into that. But turning the scanner off and back on all works fine. Same IP address internal/external.

I use Xfinity for my internet and they said this on the website. So any other ways to do this?

  • Comcast residential accounts do not have static IP addresses. This functionality is only available to Comcast Business customers who subscribe to a static IP service.

Your internal addresses can be static while your internet address remains dynamic
I don't have the router set to assign static address for either scanner, however it usually assigns the same IP every time. Might be just a odd thing about this router. One in a great while it will assign a different IP but not very often.
