Good morning everyone

I’d like to ask everyone’s opinion on how I would fix this situation. I received my SDS 200 and tried out putting in my ZIP Code. I also shut off a lot of the Business schools and so on. I wanted it to basically scan police fire and EMS. Maybe I missed something but when the Scanner starts scanning it actually stops on local FM broadcast stations in the area. At least it appears it is a local broadcast station. Music news and continuous transmissions. Is there an option to shut this off using the ZIP Code scan option. I probably missed it somewhere but I can’t imagine why anyone would want to scan local broadcast stations.

With all this said I have my scanner scanning exactly what I want by using the ARC536 software. But I wanted to know if someone has an answer on how to stop this using the quick and easy ZIP Code scam option.

I would first make sure your close call is turned off. If that does not work, then simply avoid that frequency.

If it is stopping on an FM station during either Close Call or during a Search. be sure to turn off that type of transmissions. You can do that in your Profile in Sentinel:
In Sentinel, start the Profile Editor by either selecting that option from the drop-down Edit menu, ir by clicking on the icon on the second menu line in Sentinel that resembles a pencil over a piece of paper. That's the fourth one from the left, under the V in the View drop-down menu.
When the Editor screen comes up, click on the tab that is labeled as Broadcast Screen.

Put a checkmark in the box by FM, as well as anything else you wish to exclude.

If you set up a custom search in ARC536, be sure that you do not have one that includes that frequency range. I don't ARC536 (I use ProScan), so don't know if it also has a profile editor where you can turn off Broadcast Screen.

Thank you all for that information. Now I understand what I should’ve done to turn that off.

Thanks Roger
