Why not start with a very simple and practical thing like a light sensor that automatically adapt display backlight and contrast to the environmental light condition. All cell phones have it and a lot of other devices that uses displays that are supposed to be used in different lighting. It's a necessity when using a scanner in a vehicle, if you want to take part of its display information.

I got the SDS-200 and love the scanner. Two things I don't like: 1. No DStar 2. Las Vegas PD is encrypted so I can't listen to them. Not a Uniden issue but really kills a big reason I wanted the scanner.

Not sure I would buy another scanner unless #2 changes....

Welcome to Radio Reference! Glad you got the SDS-200 and love it. Sorry to hear about your two issues, especially since they are the systems you got the scanner for in the first place. Let us know if you have any questions or issues with your 200 :) There are other things to listen to, but admittedly probably not as exciting as the PD.

The waffle maker was something UPMan the man that designed the SDS series among other scanners started years before you joined RR.
That was a salute to Paul UPMan Optiz.
Gotcha. Wouldn't want to throw a spanner in tradition, and it sounds like it may be an interesting tale. . .

Only meant as a history lesson as to where we are and how we got here.
No worrries - as I said, I wouldn't want to step on tradition, I know a lot had to happen before I got here. . . ;):D

Talking of waffles - howcumzit restaurants will give you a stack of pancackes, but you can only get one waffle at a time? I usually want a full stack of waffles. . .

Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways? Just the way it is. :ROFLMAO:
If tin whistled are made of tin, what do they make foghorns out of?

If olive oil is made from crushed olives, what do they make baby oil out of?

Oh, I can play this game. . . ;) :ROFLMAO::unsure:

Are Girl Scout cookies made from Girl Scouts?

LOL this thread could easily be hijacked.

Back on topic. I would love to see a SDS250 with some of the options disscused however I think Uniden should put the effort into updating and fixing some of the current Firmware issues. IE adding in a dedicated Cap+ mode for instance.

Too late, already hijacked.

Let‘s keep it on topic, folks.
Aww, nuts.
I've got an SDS175/SDS225 thread going elsewhere, discussing possible upgrades for both units. Maybe check that out? It's seeing some traffic.
