Seeking Mohave CO 197 Experience

Total newb, I got the Pro197 and I'm located in Lake Havasu. I managed to import the lists from this site, but I'm not getting ANYTHING as far as police. I'm having issues with learning the programing, and would like to know how you tell if something is conventional, or trunking if found on other sites that don't tell you? And when I manually enter a frequency I found on another site, what am I supposed to do about all the other information required when entering them. Most sites only list a frequency, no tags, alpha tags, mode, etc etc? If anybody has some more info for me I'd appreciate it. The directions on all these sites for the 197 really doesn't mention anything about this stuff?

check to make sure your squelch is set just to cutout the white noise at its lowest setting
it could be set to high

to make sure you can hear something just put in a noaa freq 162.400 and if you can hear that then that eliminates something wrong with the scanner

lake havasu uses a Motorola type 2 system down there with fire and police

make sure its programmed correctly with frequencys and talkgroups ,,you might keep it in open mode for talkgroups and add them later on just to get the talkgroups working for now

just put in the frequency for now till you get more familiar with programming and using the scanner
the more you program and use it the easier it will be to understand what is going on
