Anyone know how long it takes to even hear back from Uniden Repair? I sent my SDS100 in for the cold solder joint repair over a month ago and heard exactly nothing so far. UPS tracking shows it was received, and I included the form with all the info, but I have heard nothing, and I cant even find a decent number to call or anyone to contact. I know the mill turns slow, but I would have expected something by this point.

On Edit, I tried the trick with truncating my serial number on the status website and that worked, once I found the saved copy of the return form I kept. It shows received on Jan 25 (which matches) and est. return date of Feb 13 which was a week ago. It did not show up using my email address and zip code. I have searched my email and spam for anything where from them. I expected a link to pay for the repair, but so far nothing.

I forget if they use FedEx or UPS but either way set up an account for both so that you get notifications when you’re gonna get a delivery. I didn’t hear anything about mine coming back and it was the notification from FedEx telling me the package was on the way.

I did the same 3 weeks ago contacted them today and they said i didn't send enough to pay for extra work and I still owed them $6.00, they added onto the cost and will not send it back until the $6.00 was paid, so you may have to call them because they will not let you know

I finally got a chance to sit down and try to track my unit. Earlier, when I searched the Repair Status website with my name and email, I got nothing. When I searched with my serial number, it showed a expected ship date of 2/13 or very nearly a month ago.

I finally called the help number, and a very helpful lady look into it. After 16 minutes on hold (BTW, they have the most AWFUL hold music) she comes back to the call with the situation. Turns out, I had our shipping clerk at my work send it in, and despite my filling out all my info on the Repair Request Form, they decided to book my unit into their system with the shipping clerks name, and my work street address. I can only guess that they took all that info off the shipping documents and not the repair form that was included with the unit.

So I guess it's been sitting in a bin somewhere, ready to go, but they had no way to contact me because the shipping documents did not include an email of phone number. We got it all straightened out and they sent me an email with the payment link, so hopefully I will get it back shortly.

What an ordeal!

I got my SDS100 back on Friday. Looks like brand-new! Friday night we had MASSIVE storms blow thru my area (STL). Power went out at about 9. I had my Bluetti portable power station set up and ready to go in the basement. It ran a small lamp, my laptop and the scanner. I was using the laptop to watch local news channel to keep updated on the storms. I had figured I would use my cell phone for a Wi-Fi hotspot, but we even lost cell service.

The ONLY think keeping us updated was the scanner. Missouri Highway Patrol dispatchers do a fantastic job of alerting the troopers on the warnings, and spotted tornados. I felt much better knowing what was going on. BTW, I can personally highly recommend the Bluetti AC180. Once storms passed, we went upstairs and it ran the lamp, laptop, scanner and Wi-Fi switch till about midnight, then I took it into the bedroom and it ran a box fan for us till almost 7 in the morning. It was nice having at least that much.

We took a beating, but we came thru ok. Some hail damage to my car, and my privacy fence in the backyard was blown over. Listening to the scanner, I heard there were 2 houses collapsed about a mile from me.
