This suggestion is an extension of a discussion in the Database Forum.
Sentinel does not download trunked systems from Radio Reference if there are no talkgroups in the database for that system. The evident motivation for this choice is to avoid confusion for the newbies toward whom the HP series is directed.
However, this is problematic for the more advanced user who would prefer to have the system built in the database so they can search out talkgroups, or for the user who would not otherwise be aware that a particular system even exists.
I suggest that Sentinel be modified to give the user the option to download "empty" (non-scannable in current parlance) systems with ID Search mode set. This could be part of the main Sentinel setup or maybe an additional Extreme option.
