When you update my understanding is it does not replace any new frequencies in your FL! So short of spending hours comparing the update database with your FL, how do you know and add/replace?

Option A
Look at whats changed on Radio Reference and compare to whats in your fav list and make the desired changes.

Option B
Get @ProScan , create your fav lists in that. Then use Proscan RRDB feature which will show you the differences and allow you full control allowing you to update fav lists with new data with just a few clicks.

Option Eh person here. I keep an eye on both the Database and
the Provincial Forums on daily basis for updated info.
Making the necessary changes to my favorite list as needed.
Option Eh is much better, you also learn how to manually program, save your changes and then write to scanner. Self-programming is not as difficult if the time is dedicated to learn how. The database is a good tool to use, just don't depend on it for all the programming.

Not the most often asked and re-asked question on the forum, but has to be in the top 5 or so.

It isn't 'fluid'.

@n0wla You still have to do the 'legwork' in your FL. It isn't 'dynamic'. Go to proscan.org n' download the 30-day trial. The registered version costs $50, but. You get:

1. Developer support on an RR forum devoted to the program
2. Free updates

It depends on how much you care to manage your Favorites List. Yeah, the DB update is for when you use the "zip code"/location option of the radio. What I do is put my Favorites stuff on my Watch List here on RR. When there are changes, I look them over and update my FL as desired. This keeps me in the loop with regard to additions, changes and deletions.

Hmm. Seems like I've been wrong all this time. I was under the impression when I update my database scanners, my items in each of my favorite lists were automatically updated since they are based on the master database file. I didn't know that I needed to manually update each individual entry in each favorite list.

Yikes

Sorry to be so blunt, but I'd say the topic of "Will my Favorites List be automatically updated when downloading Sentinel Database" has come up numerous times in the past. No, it does not.

Reason being: many users "tweak" their Favorites Lists once created from the master database. They many modify alpha tags, re-sort departments/channels, locations, etc. Automatic updates may negate that work.
