MAC programming software

Hello,
I purchased a Uniden SDS100 scanner about 2 1/2 years ago. I kind of forgot about it as I was using an app on my iphone. Fast forward to a few days ago, I decided to break out my scanner. Being in the IT field for the past 23+ years, I decided I wanted to make sure the firmware was up to date and such. Little to my surprise, I found the only way to do this was with the Sentinel software which is restricted to windows. Since I use a MACbook, I set out on a little adventure. I have created a pilot version of a scaled down version of Sentinel software but for the MAC. I have created a domain, registered for a apple developer account (pending) and have tested the software. I will provide some screenshots below but what I am really looking for is from help within the community here. First, I know the majority of people are on Windows but are there any MAC users in here? If so, would you be willing to test and provide me some feedback on errors, limitations and what improvements you would like to see. I can't provide the software until my apple developer account syncs to my mac (I signed up on my iphone due to verifications issues on my mac so I have to wait for it to sync to my macbook and that can take 24-48 hours). Please respond here and I will be watching for replies.

Since you stated your original roadblock was not being able to update firmware, how does your solution work for updating firmware? Or for updating the HP database on the scanner?

I use CrossOver to run Sentinel on my MacBook, works just fine; can update both database and firmware perfectly.

You're not my targeted audience. I know the windows versions works (I have parallels installed on my MAC) I am trying to create something for the MAC community. Thank You for your reply.

I use Mac exclusively; I mostly use a Windoze virtual machine for radio programming, although the more stuff I can program without running a virtual machine the happier I will be.

If you're working on a Mac version of Sentinel, I'll be glad to give it a try for you, once you're able to provide copies.

I see from your screenshots that you appear to have some serial port functionality going on, but remember that firmware and programming updates are done by treating the scanner as a mass storage device and connecting directly to the SD card in the radio.

A word of caution, no one who has sat in front of an Apple computer for any length of time types it as MAC. That's for MAC addresses, and those nefarious types trying to work their ways into places they can't get to without permission.
