Hello everyone.

I am confused about the section in the profile under General Options.
The General Auto Filter is greyed out and says "Off" and the "Audio off Time" is also greyed out and says infinite.
I was going thru the modulation filters on the radio to see what would work the best for my Sds100.

I've read on the forums that the profile filter needs to match what is in the scanner.
I set all my filters on the radio to off. Could that be why the Global auto filter is greyed out and says Global.
By doing that could that have caused issues with the profile setting?
and does that mean that any changes made inside of the profile automatically change all of the radios settings?
So if I changed the filters in the radio to let say Wide Invert or NFM. would the Global settings change?

Thanks

You need to set the target model to the 100 and then edit the profile.

As mc48 has noted, you do need to change the 'target model' to match the scanner you are connecting to Sentinel. The Target Model selection is under the drop-down Tools menu in Sentinel.

I set a different profile for each of my scanners. When I am going to be updating the Favorites list for a specific scanner, I open the Profile assigned to that scanner. That tells Sentinel which model scanner is connected, and the Profile will also show which Favorites lists I have set to be downloaded to the scanner, and whether that list is set to be monitored by default.

If you have the target model set as "BCDx36HP", your Filter selection is grayed out, and when editing a Favorites list, you won't see the option to set a NAC for a trunked system's Sites. If the target as for one of the SDS scanners, but you are programming a 436HP or 536HP, you'd see the option for filter settings, as well as Site NACs, but those settings will be ignored by the scanner when you load Favorites lists.

Thanks!

I created a random favorites list and downloaded a few different systems and departments from the database.
All changes were made thru the favorites list editor.

System --- Departments --- Channels

From the Database ---

System Name -- KY Air Evac Helicopters
Department Name --Kentucky Air Evac Helicopters - North Central Kentucky
Filter-- Global
I changed the Filter to Wide Normal

Same system different departments.

System Name -- KY Air Evac Helicopters
Department Name --Kentucky Air Evac Helicopters - West Kentucky
Filter -- Global
I changed the Filter to Invert.

So, how does the settings on the Global Auto Filter work with my SDS100 in relation to what's in my radio filters?

Thanks

Global Auto Filter is the scanner-wide default value that is used if there isn’t another value (other than Global) in the favorites list.

This what I don't understand.

So what do I do if I have a Favorites list with several departments that have different filters within that favorites list?

Again Thanks

You set the value as you want it on each department. If you have a value on a department (or site for trunked) then the value for global filter is irrelevant.

So if I setup all of my Departments differently, one Department filter could be Invert, another could be Off, and the last one NFM.
which are all in the same system, what makes it irrelevant?

NFM isn’t a filter mode but other than this point … yes.

The global value has “absolutely no impact” if the favorites list has a filter assigned to all departments and/or sites.
