I have noticed when I update either my SDS200 or BCD536 using the latest Sentinel Software, some of my area talkgroups are not downloaded into the scanner. The TG info
for the departments etc. is in the RR database, but for some reason I cannot get certain TG's into the scanner.....at this time I have to
manually put them in....

Any ideas?

thanks,
John

Which talkgroups from which system? How are you trying to import them?

Do you have a link to the systems DB page here?
Or the systems name and county if no link may help.

I presume that you may be trying to monitor this system:

If you are seeing talkgroups in Sentinel, that are not being downloaded to the scanner & being monitored, check which Service Types you have enabled. By default, when the scanner is shipped, as well as when Sentinel is initially installed, the only Public Safety Service Types that are enabled are Dispatch: Law Dispatch, Fire Dispatch, EMS Dispatch, and Multi-Dispatch. You also need to enable the Tac & Talk service types: Law Talk, Law Tac, Fire Talk, Fire Tac, etc.

Another thing to check if I remember reading correctly, is that updating the database does not automatically add newly added talkgroups to favorites lists.

Go to Edit Profile and click on the Service Types tab to make your selection. That is correct that updating the database does not change favorites lists.

The full database gets automatically updated. Favorite lists do not. All changes and updates in favorite lists have to be done manually, including adding new talkgroups.

Enabling service types only affects importing from the full database to a favorite list if you use the Add Channels On Range menu command. Service types enabled in Sentinel or the scanner are ignored when using the Append to favorite list menu.
