Hi,

I'm using Sentinel to update the master database. It works fine on my SDS100 and I just did an update today.

When I tried updating the master database on my SDS200, Sentinel says 'This version of the database is the current version'; however, the date in the SDS200 is 04/07/2024. This is over a month old, so I don't know why the database won't update.

Any ideas on what's going on with this, am I doing something wrong, and how do I fix it?

Thanks.

I updated the master database on my Sentinel (same version as yours) just now, shows 5/12/24. Who is your ISP?
Spectrum. The strange? thing is I just updated my SDS100 to the latest version, and then tried to update my SDS200, and here I am.

Did you change the target model to reflect the scanner your trying to update?

Plenty of issues reported with Spectrum internet, just to name a few

If your cell has a hotspot plan try using that

Pretty sure changing the target model doesn't have an influence with the simple act of updating the master database alone. It's only when writing changes to the scanner as with updating firmware or favorites list change that target model needs to be accurate

Yeah, found that out after updating my 436, then changing back to 200.

Did you write anything to the 200? If Sentinel shows recent db date, will it go to the scanner if you don't write to it? Try reading the 200, then write back and select, force write full database.

So....I force wrote the full database and that did the update -- thanks dave3825. I'm guessing I have a configuration file corruption in Sentinel. I think I'll uninstall Sentinel, delete all the files, reinstall Sentinel, and read from both the SDS100 and SDS200. Thanks all.

Once you update the database in Sentinel and write it to the SDS100, then when you connect the SDS200 to Sentinel, Sentinel is definitely going to say the database is the current version when you click on update master database. That's because the database in Sentinel itself already was updated when you updated the SDS100. Just connect the SDS200 in mass storage mode, then write Sentinel's updated database to it.

The target model is only for changing settings in Sentinel and does not impact what is sent to the radio. When you download to the scanner Sentinel verifies which radio is connected and this is what shows in the dialog pop up.

When you updated the SDS 100 Sentinel was updated so all you have to do is write to the SDS 200. If you just connect to the 200 Sentinel will tell you it has to latest update.

That is correct- the 436/536/100/200 all use the same master database. Now if you also have a Home Patrol 1 or 2 in your arsenal, then you have to open the software for those and download their version of the full database.
