Does sentinel Auto upgrade favorites list created with sentinel when you update the database or does that need to be done manually?

Tks

Fortunately, updating the master database does not update, overwrite, or alter any customizations you have made to your favorites lists. They need to be updated manually.

Which some people love and others hate. I prefer to make my own changes to Favorites Lists because a lot of time was spent customizing them.

You and me both. I spend a lot of time setting up the favorites lists the way I want them. The last thing I want is an update wiping out all of my work.

That I can definitely agree with, but I can see an opt in setting being acceptable as well, particularly for certain systems or departments. Some can be quite large and frequently updated so it's almost like starting over if something gets updated within these areas.

Rename the system in your FL (or delete it if you know in your head of any changes you've made), add system from full db to your FL, apply your changes, delete old renamed version of system.

I guess if I had to do this every week I'd worry about this complexity, but I don't apply updates to my FL unless I know there are significant changes that need to be made. IMHO, what would be nice is a tool to do a side-by-side comparison of the two versions of a system, highlighting any differences and allowing you to apply the differences to your FL or ignore them.

Thanks to all for the input. jtwalker - That would make a good suggestion for the next version of sentinel. If they update it very often, at ver2.02 it dont look like they do.

Glad I'm not the only one. What's worse is when you get the " XXXX is different on the scanner- copy and replace or ignore" popup when updating the scanner. It would be nice if it showed you what was different between the versions. Sometimes I make changes manually on the scanner itself like add alphatags to an unknown TG and it gets wiped by accident

I now begin by uploading from scanner before I do anything and labeling it as the "current date-default" so if anything messes up I just download it back and start over.

The menus aren't intuitive either, that's a whole 'nother story though.
