Is there a place where the masses can see the service tags (i.e. Law Disp, Law Talk, Fire-Tac, etc) and what the intended use is of them?
My interest stems from finding at least one frequency in an area I just visited with the "Federal" tag. My impression has always been that the "Federal" tag should be for law enforcement or other similar top-tier government operations (FEMA, etc). In this particular case, the frequency in question is used by a courier service which is part and parcel (excuse the pun) of the Canadian postal service, which is in turn a government-run operation. So I can see what the tagger was thinking when they applied the Federal tag, but is that the right way to go? As far as I'm concerned, that's being used for business - just because it's owned by the government doesn't mean it should get the Federal tag.
I've submitted a DB change request to have it looked at, but figured I would get the inevitable discussion going on in here at the same time. Actually, I thought there would have been a wiki page identifying the intended purpose for each service tag, but couldn't find it after a search.
