I thought I had posted information about that, mabye I forgot. The plans to go digital for the Lafayette system have been scrapped. Lafayette is scheduled to join the State of Louisiana 700MHZ Smartzone digital system being planned at this time. All of the MTS2000's and XTS3000's will be phased out since they won't do 700mhz. All directors have been advised to buy radio equipment that will be 700mhz digital capable from now on. As soon as the State has it's system operational, Lafayette will link all of it's current talkgroups with it's talkgroups on the state network and run the systems side-by-side until the year 2012 when the Lafayette system will be taken off line. Just FYI the state has offered the new system to all public safety agencies statewide at no cost to join. All they have to do is buy the radio equipment. Looks like a statewide radio network for all public safety agencies is closer that we think.
