OK, so new toys to play with. If the site can work out where you are a red dot appears on the map where at your location. (If the dot is in the wrong place, visit hostip.info and tell it where you are as this is the database that's used to try and work out your location - it's not 100% accurate).
If the dot appears (and if it's in the right place!) if you mouseover the transmitter sites, it will tell you the bearing from you to the site and how far away it is in km. Also, a signal strength bar will appear. This is supposed to give an indication of the probability that you will be able to receive the transmission. It uses your location, the tx site location, the tx power and bearing, time of day and so on to try and work it out but it's what I guess you would call 'in beta testing'. It doesn't check the solar conditions so it is only a guide.
Have fun and thanks for all the nice words. Makes the effort worthwhile.
Richard
P.S. The request for 'all stations, all languages' would yield so many results that you wouldn't be able to see anything on the map at all. I'm going to see if I can do 'all stations, all languages, in one band (eg 48mb)' which might give a more reasonable results... I'll add that to the 'to do list' anyhow!
