Does anyone have the fire tone-out codes for Smyrna's five stations? Is SFD the only fire department in Cobb County that is still using FTOs?

I don't have the tone outs but it's standard quick-call 2 being used. I have been told this is because the Smyrna stations still use an old legacy alerting system- and it was a real problem to get the tones to "play nice" when Cobb county switched to Astro 25 in 2006. I know it was a tremendous headache for Diversified, why they didn't get the same modern system that Cobb did which uses the Astro 25 data is beyond me.

Guess they ran out of money after having to upgrade the consoles and replace all their analog radios and pay the ASTROnomical prices, there wasn't any money left to upgrade the alerting system.

They are the only agency on the "new" Cobb DTRS using such a system. The county retired the old legacy MOSCAD when they migrated to the new radio system years ago.

Thanks, MTS2000! You're always a great source of both information as well as history. I appreciate it. Hope all is well with you.
