So confused.....please help!

I just bought a Uniden BC296D scanner and am at my wits end trying to program it.

I was told by Uniden that I could download frequencies from this site but I cannot find the page to do it....can it be done?

I have it semi-programmed....meaning it scans but doesn't pick up much and I know it should be picking up quite a bit(my old scanner does).

I have put the LTR and EDACS in different banks but it still has alot of delays and beeps into between scans.

I'm in Indiana

Please tell me where I went wrong!

Without knowing your specific location in Indiana and what your
scanning interests are, I've copied the link for all trunk systems in
Indiana.

Click on the menu name of the systems that interest you and the freq's will pop up.

Could you cut and paste these freq's into the software package you have ?
... or there's the old fashioned way :wink:

I'm in Evansville, IN.

The scanner came with a pc program but I'm not real familiar with it yet. I doesn't look like copy/paste will be an option but we'll see.

Have you programmed each TRS in its proper mode, and the right LCN's for EDACS and LTR???? I know on the Bearcats you have to do the LCN's for LTR.

01/25/2002 News - New Provoice Dispatch Consoles are ready to be installed for Evansville PD; EPD OCS officers have been running trials using Jaguar handhelds for several months in full digital, encrypted mode. Unsure if the more routine communications of EPD will be analog, digital, or digital & encrypted.


This is not good news.....

Thats the worst possible news for a scanner user. THat means that you will NOT be able to monitor any talkgroup in Provoice digital mode. At least they don't mention also using ESK...

I'm not sure if they have switched yet but only he can tell after he gets it programmed. I'm trying to get him to call me. It's so much easier doing it over the phone......

This guy should be working for Uniden........he definitely knows his stuff(unlike the people who I talked to at Uniden).
