So what does everyone like to moniter?

I'm kinda wondering what everyone else likes to listen to in the Phoenix area?

I know everyone has that certian frequency, or talk group that they always have on..

I always moniter Peoria PD, and Glendale PD. I usually have Phoenix PD, and Phx Fire going as well.

Few of mine;

Peoria PD - All.
Glendale PD - All.
Phoenix PD - C deck 4-9, A-B deck 9.
Phoenix Fire - Alarm, Ch6, Ch9.
MCSO -- West Sheriffs, Lake Patrol..
Arizona DPS -- District 14, 5.
Suprise PD - All.
Luke AFB - Trunked, Conventional.
Glendale Airport - Atc.


Also, I am not sure I have all of Peoria Police Departments frequencys, I only have 3 listed for them.
Since I do not have a current SWFD can someone be kind enough to post (or private message) all the listed frequencys for Peoria PD?

Like everywhere else in the country, when I'm in the Phoenix area I like to listen primarily to natural resource agencies (National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, BLM, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, State Game and Fish Dept's, State Forestry agencies, and county or regional park agencies) as well as fire. I also like to listen to ADOT and DPS to find out what is happening on the freeways and to figure out their systems and procedures so I'm able to tune them in when I'm driving to and from Phoenix I can listen in on the highway conditions I will face. Since most of my in-laws live in Scottsdale and I spent most of my time in Arizona there, I like to listen to Scottsdale PD and FD. I only listen to metro PD's, and in Phoenix this includes the new digital trunked systems for Phoenix, Mesa, and all the others now on such systems when I'm trying to figure out how these systems work when something big breaks. The daily grind of law enforcement traffic is a bit too much for me.

Luke AFB TRS & F-16 freq,
MCSO TRS- West TG's an& Jail TG's
DPS for Central Az area
Union Pacific & BNSF
Skywarn on UHF
Pheonix TRS Fire TG's & a few PD TG's
Phoenix FD conventional channels
BLM and some others.

I have a lot of the are PD's but most are locked out.

Depends on what side of Phoenix I am or for that matter, where in the US I am. Mostly Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS by county to county on whatever highway I'm on. I also include DOT, Forestry ( California CDF runs most of the rural Fire and EMS in that state) and Utilities( especially in severe weather). What I don't listen to is GMRS, CB or any other "private" stuff. Buisness is only interesting if I happen to be loading or unloading there (by the way, has anyone else noticed how many business' are using un-licensed GMRS and FRS radios?).

I also do a lot of ACARS logging and when conditions lend themselves to it-HF utilities logging.

Almost all the department store and a lot of restruants are using them. I guess it is a cheap way of communication that is not being enforced.

Just a quick comment before I get accused of hijacking this thread-pretty sure GMRS is going to go the same way as CB.
