Before traveling to Montreal, I programmed my scanner with the frequencies shown in the Canadian TAFL listings for the STM which consisted of VHF, UHF and 800 Mhz frequencies. The VHF frequencies were only heard below ground in the Metro, while the UHF were above and below ground and the 800 Mhz was only above ground. Because all the transmissions were in French, I had a difficult time trying to determine the use of the various frequencies. I noticed that some of the Metro train operators had VHF and UHF radios in their compartments. One operator stated that the VHF system is being phased out in favor of the UHF system. From a previous visit, I was aware that the 800 mhz system (EDACS) is used by the bus system however I don't have any information regarding a LCN. Unfortunately the Radio Reference database has no information regarding STM so I asking if anyone has information regarding frequency use, PL/DC codes or TG's for the EDACS, please respond. Merci.

I'm here a lot
I hope there are Montrealers that check in here on a regular basis.

If not , you could join this group which is active in Quebec.
www.infoscan.urgence.qc.ca That link is in French , but if you Google the URL, you could use the Google translation feature to understand what the headings are on the web page.
Even if you ask your question in English , you should get a response from a local who monitors the transit system.
I was a member at one time and could access their freq's , but do to inactivity on my part , my user name is not recognized any longer.
