Software CD for a ws1040

Is there a CD out there that I could put into the computer and use the usb cable that cable that came with the scanner that would download onto the new scanner?? Thanks

No, here are all the downloads from whistler WS1040/WS1065 Downloads YOu will need to use 3rd party software to program it.

What I was just reading in the book that came with the scanner was that I could clone from one scanner to another. I have a older Radio Shack PRO 106. I bought the WS 1040 as a Christmas Gift. Has anyone ever done this, and could you explain it to me better?? I have a learning disorder so it takes me a while to see this in my head.. Thanks

Okay. Thanks. I will give it a try. If it doesn't work. Will it screw up my main scanner any?? I bought it years ago, and our local Radio Shack plugged in a cable from the scanner into the computer and it was done. Otherwise I can't understand much of how it works. If I saw it done like on youtube. Then I see how it is done..

Yup, so long as you don't try to use the wrong firmware or DSP you can mix and match programming among all versions of the GRE500 at will.

Boy do I wish lol... Well I made my OWN CD full of stuff like PDFs of the various chips on the system board, the Pro106 repair manual, links, notes, .p500 files for various parts of the country, Win500 executables, etc... Ya know I find it interesting that this unit can reach 777-781 MHz given what lies there.
