I'm seeing software called Sentinel and Home Patrol. What one would be used with the BCD436HP.

Sentinel is the software, HomePatrol is a model of scanner which uses Sentinel.
The 436/536 use Sentinel although it's a slightly different version of Sentinel than the HomePatrol uses.

So this link BCD436HP < UnidenMan4 < TWiki is the same as this link ExtremeUpdate < HomePatrol < TWiki ?? Both are the same soft ware and if not what one to use.
The 2 links you posted are in no way the same, they are for 2 different scanners. As stated the software for them is not the same. Use the one that's related to the scanner you own.

If you have the BCD436HP, you want to use the BCD436HP < UnidenMan4 < TWiki link.
