Somerset 700MHz P25

Has anyone noticed the weakness on the 700Mhz side the past few days. My Unication G5 keeps dropping signal

yes. My SDS100 now cannot hold onto the system in southern Bernards Twp..... the UHF strong, 700 weak.

I’ve been listening to the 500 system for the last few weeks so I can monitor fire/ems and police but after seeing ur post I flipped the 700 on and previously lock the CC full bars maybe dropping a bar once in a while, tonight I was rarely at full hovering mostly 2-3 bars and sometimes lower(unication g5) my other g5 stays on Middlesex county TRS and there has been no difference in that systems signal strength

Have u heard anything else on this I flipped from the 500 to the 700 last night for a little bit and still was only consistently getting around 3 bars instead of the 5 I used to get, I was gonna say based on where I think u are maybe a tower closer to us went down but the other user is in south bernards which is definitely away from us

700 still weak in bernards twp, near route 78

I've noticed Bernards/Bedmister/PeaPack are now on Region 4 and Bridgewater on Region 6.

PD TGs have been patched together during the corona in order to spread dispatcher stations out and cut down on personnel and OT

For my SDS 100, I have both the UHF and 700 simulcasts in the radio. I'll be in Hillsborough tomorrow 6-6-2020. Hopefully I'll hear something

U will hear a good amount, the PDs are mostly if not all on the 700 system but come through on the 500 system especially now with certain TGs patched together. I use a G5 to monitor that system so I monitor the 500 side so I can hear police/fire/ems/Oem pretty much everything, it’s busy all day.

I have seen affiliations switch several times over a short period of time. Sometimes 500, sometimes 700, sometimes both. The new beta 1.4 handles this perfectly. You CAN set up a system scan list. My system delay is 2.0 seconds, flips between 500/700 quickly.

Working like a charm, no more knob flipping. The G5 keeps getting better and better.

Hey Wayne, where is the system delay option in G5 programming? Also, since 500 & 700 have many segmented users, do you feel you lose certain traffic if say the G5 stays with the 500 side?

Currently I miss nothing monitoring the 500 side but that is again because some of the mostly 700 pds are patched with pds that switch back and forth so everything is coming through, with the patches removed there will be some Pd traffic missed on the 500 side

Hmm.....Bernardsville 1803xxx testing 700 coverage downtown this morning. Wonder if there has been some coverage changes up County.

WQXY990 was modified this spring. The FCC approval brings (2) new additional 700 sites to North County. Another in Bedminster and one in Bernardsville.

I was by the new Bedminster site recently, it is not on the air.

Region 2 PD, just for the day.

Suppose waiting for new sites to come on line. So we are now 11 + 2 new. Some sites are both 500/700 some are 500 OR 700 stand alone.

Looks like these new sites will be exclusive to 700.
