There are a few sites listed for this dispatch channel, do they all transmit when county is dispatching or only certain sites depending on which part of the county is being called?
Also has anyone noticed the signal being very weak lately, usually this comes in loud and clear, but the last week or so the signal fades in and out.

Dispatching isn't simulcasted on the three 'dispatch' frequencies. There are quite a few that use 470.13750, but for example, 29 Fire & EMS, 51 Fire & EMS, 63 Fire all are dispatched on 506.98750 and they are not heard on 470.13750. TRS Fire Region 1 is rebroadcasted over 506.98750 for the FD's pagers. I am not familiar with who is dispatched on the South frequency.

This is a really old document (2011), but you can get an idea of who is dispatched on what frequency in Appendix D and E.

470.1375 is a simulcast cell. What you are describing is multi-cast, where multiple different frequencies are used for the same transmissions.

About a year or two ago almost all the custom multi-cast paging was removed from the console. It was problematic to maintain. The only multi-cast that remains is 51 Fire and EMS on both. The result is stand alone paging can be found all over the bands.

As for the locations of the simulcast 470.1375,not all sites have this. Same as the 500/700, not all sites carry both, however some do.

Fuzzy memory tells me there were 3-4 paging sites. Traffic way down on 470.1375 since multi-cast removed. The vast majority are gone.

As far as signal levels, I suspect you are correct @mdsxfire . Who knows, a bad PA or antenna feedline ? I think they are moving or rebuiding a site that had a serious fire.

Listen carefully you can hear the heterodyne and also morse ID timing slightly different on the transmitters.

Somerset’s radio shop is encrypted, that should say it all, or not.

I never said there were 3 different frequencies, I said different TX sites, if u look at the license there are multiple sites listed around the county for that specific frequency. The south/vhf frequency is only a few.. station 30, I believe a few of the stations out of Franklin.
Paging coverage must not be that great on the 470 I have an antenna 40 ft up and the signal is terrible

The many many licenses are a starting point. Many exist on paper but not OTA. You actually need to determine what is at a particular site with a visit. I can tell you 470.1375 is present at Johnston Drive. If you hear mixing of two signals you may be in an area that is equal distance between two sites. If so, some simulcast distortion might be present and is normal. As a side note what length and type of feed line and antenna, using signal splitters? Gets complicated quickly J. 😆

Yes I definitely know that believe it or not for years I was using an old TV antenna that picked everything up perfectly I switched a while ago to an actual scanner antenna with a single element out of the top and then three coming out of the bottom the coax being used is probably questionable in age and should be replaced but that seems to be the only signal that gives me an issue. All of my trunked systems are monitored on 3 different unication G5’s so I have no issues there
