You'll get much better coverage at NASASpaceFlight.com with insider info on their L2 section that literally is available long before any public site publishes. We're also lucky to have a feed of KSC ops hosted right here at RR!

I was reading on another site that when programming the Shuttle Air To Ground-1 freq in your radio make sure to program them to compensate for the freq shift as the orbitor is moving towards you, overhead and away from your location. The freqs should be programmed as follows: 259.710,259.700,259.695.

I have never tried scanning for the space shuttle considering I live in Oklahoma with a basic BCT15x scanner and stock antenna. I know it's a long shot and a big time noob question, but is it even possible for me to listen in on anything with my scanner this morning?

No, you are too far away from the launch profile.

It's carried 24/7 (mission or not) at NASA - NASA TV

When the shuttle isn't up, they have dedicated space station comms.
