You can also unplug the speaker and touch leads of a 1-1/2 volt battery to the speaker terminals. You should hear a click when you touch the terminals. After checking the solder connections on the speaker terminals, if you don't hear the click, replace the speaker. There are usually 2 problems with speakers. Either the voice coil is open or it overheated and the windings came unglued and wedged in the magnet gap. In that case, you will not be able to move the cone or you may hear the voice coil scraping. I used to work at a location which had a speaker reconing business.

I want to thank all who replied. I was persistent and did test with another working Speaker and found my speaker has failed. Ordered an Internal Speaker replacement and should be Good 2 Go. Thank you.
