When you split a signal you "lose" 1/2 the signal (or a tad more ).
1/2 the signal is 3dB. So if you have 3+dB more signal than you need you will be fine.
It all comes down to how much signal you have and how much signal you need.
If the signal is good and solid before, it should be just fine after. If it is a bit noisy before, it will be noisier after.
If it is very noisy before, it might not be receivable after.
There is no use "arguing" about the loss, its a fact.
