About 10 minutes ago (1405hrs) there was a C5 Galaxy that just landed at CYHZ... unknown reason and duration of their stay. May be time to get a rare picture for this neck of the woods...

If anyone would like to... we could use this thread as a place to post what we find at YHZ... or would it be better suited for the Aircraft section of the forums... I'd like to see it in this section as it's an Atlantic Canada specific thing... Opinions?

I agree. I was at work at the time but for something like that (pretty rare for these parts) I'd like to know about it. NE (Ian) was lucky enough to get a photo of it as it departed luckily.

Had a fairly good day out at the airport today... not overly busy, but managed to get a few shots... Lots of noise from the racetrack due to the Monster Trucks doing their thing...

I'm not too far from joining the SLR club myself, looking forward to taking nice photos like those. Thanks for the reply.

Hey guys! Sweet thread and pics! I just stumbled onto it while making another post, this is a great idea SYOTT, I seem to catch some interesting stuff out there while working, and spotting of course, will be fun to share what we see back and forth.

I have to ask SYOTT, since I have a Rebel XS too, which 300mm lens do you have? Does it have image stablization?

Here's the guy your talking about, I'm guessing they stopped for gas if anything cause the pic was at 14:34, not long after you posted, did you happen to notice if he went down to the Esso or Shell? There was also a C-130 there the same day, he taxied down to Esso and filled up, then turned around and left too if I recall.

I just have one of the "older" 75-300mm lenses... no IS on this lens... only on my 18-55mm. The secret is to pan with the movement and constantly adjust the zoom to keep it in frame...

Hey guys, just heard a not so nice call, DND Fire is responding to a Seaking which was coming in with smoke in the cockpit, and now they are saying something about a hard landing, and fire, but no casualties..hopefully its just a drill.

I can say that this was a drill... the YAW fire dept. trains on the weekends... there was no Sea King up in the area yesterday...
