Hey guys, another rainy Saturday is here, but there just happens to be what looks like a CF-18, or just an F-18 sitting in front of Esso Avitat, at HIA. It looks like he may be there a while, since there was no activity around it. Anyways, heads up for anyone who has some time to play with cameras :)

Here's some pics from today.. Unfortunately they were using runway 32 most of the time we were out there but I got a few pics, including some prop blur practice:

Has anyone be out to YHZ to see some planes related to the Security Council forum going on in Halifax this weekend? There is sure to be some interesting ones with De fence ministers from around the world here.

I was able to catch these 2 birds on that weekend, I think it was the friday before the summit, but maybe it was saturday morning, and I'm confusing the days.

Ahh that must be the Harrier that had an emergency divert that weekend. There must have been an LHA or something off the coast unless those Harriers had tankers drag them up here. I think they have fairly short range. He does have external fuel though so who knows.

I was wondering about that too, maybe they were using them as CAP for the summit or something? There was actually 2 of them sitting at ESSO that day, I didnt post the other cause his *** end was toward me, but I'm guessing one of them was the emergency landing you heard, cause it was the same day you posted about that.

Yeah it'd have to be. Could be related, maybe they were thinking of going all True Lies if anything had happened.

Hey guys, another heads up for anyone who can make it to HIA tomorrow, there is 4 F-18 Hornets parked over at Esso, yes, 4!!

I saw 3 of them practicing missed approaches yesterday on the way into town, they did a sweet bank and climb up right in front of me, after coming off the runway, was totally awesome. Anyways, I checked on the way home today, and they were still there, parked in a row. Go check it out if you get a chance.

Your welcome Darryl, hopefully you, or someone can get out for some pics, or catch them take off. I'm gonna head out there this afternoon when I'm free, with any luck they will still be there.

Amazing! I wondered how Ian made it out on the other side of the fence at first until I saw these weren't his pics. Thanks for posting those Res21cue!

Looks to be a C-17 at YHZ right now on the webcam. Also according to Twitter a Delta 767 diverted there in the last 30 mins.
