Hello,

Sr. Citizen now (very)

Getting back into hobby, after a very long time.

I have a SDS200 and a Home Patrol II

Haven't used either in a long time.

But, would like to start with hobby again.
Hard for me to remember the db updating instructions. (or any Firmwafe updates ?)

I imagine I should update the databases that each uses first.

I seem to remember something about Sentinel.

If someone has a few spare minutes, and could take pity
on a (very) Sr. Citizen would be most appreciative.

Very specifically what steps should I follow, in excrutiating detail, for both units, to make fully
usable and operable again ?

Thanks, help is much appreciated,
Bob

Good morning, Bob and welcome back!

Others will likely give you more of what you specifically have asked for. But being a gray-haired person as well. I find watch videos very helpful. Here are a few basics to start with.

Hello again, Bob & welcome back to the hobby...again! There are plenty of resources right here on the forums at your disposal if you search for them

See the advice given to you in your other threads you started asking the same or similar questions. Seems like you've been getting in and out of the hobby every year or so:

Lastly, for your review (these links were given to you in the past) I'd recommend bookmarking them:

1: Activate .NET Framework 3.5 (includes 2.0 and 3.0) under Windows Features.

2: Install BOTH versions of Sentinel. (There is no conflict. Both can even run at the same time.)

3: Use the orange shield Sentinel for your HomePatrol 2 (I have one, too.)

4: Use the green shield Sentinel for your SDS200. (I have the SDS100. Same diff, only smaller.)

5: Enter USB Mass Storage mode accordingly on both scanners.

6: See videos above for what to do, next.

7: There have been some massive firmware updates on the SDS units. No firmware updates for the HP-2.

8: The HPDB is still updated weekly, available every Monday. Both scanners/Sentinel versions still get updates.

9: Have fun! (I'm 59, almost there.)
