PITTSBURGH -- Just after 7am this morning police responded to a domestic dispute on Fairfield street in Stanton Heights.

When officers arrived a man opened fired and several Pittsburgh police officers have been injured.

Pittsburgh police PIO Diane Richard said at least three or four officers have been shot.

"There are still officers we can't get to," Richard said.

She could not confirm why the officers could not be reached.

Negotiators are on the scene.

Anybody notice the similarities with this incident and the NY incident:

Both perps:

Were laid off or couldn't find a job
Were wearing body armor
Used rifles

This is horrible. Recently we had the 4 Oakland officers gunned down and now 3 Pittsburgh officers gunned down. Then a couple a days ago some nut kills something like 13 people in NY. I think I am going to start exercising my CCW privileges when I go out from now on. Around here armed robberies and theft are on the uptick due to massive unemployment

They both held extreme right-wing political beliefs
They were both afraid of a so-called "impending gun ban"
They were both "survivalists"
They both were heavily armed

A sad day for Pittsburgh. RIP.
