When did the independent hill tower go up? Do you know the cc freq if it's up?
Just searched the band from 150-160 and didn't get any cc's. I am in woodbridge not far from independent hill.

I think it's probably the existing tower. I was by there this fall, and didn't notice anything extra. The CC is the big question. Hopefully somebody'll snag it soon.

They built a new tower at the Independent Hill area office a year or two ago to replace the existing tower. Whether it has been completely outfitted with all the STARS gear and is live now I couldnt say

One must remember, this was only testing, the CC may not be up 24/7 and it could have been turned off. after the testing. I did hear that one of the 4 CC's was shut down. never named which one.

I searched throughly while doing to and from DC on Saturday. Got Thornburg, Edgehill and even a snippet of Fork Mountain, but nothing new.

This past early saturday morning I was hearing multiple CC's in woodbridge near potomac mills.

New CC sites I heard were
151.0325
151.3175
152.0375
152.0525
152.5025
159.1125
159.3225

However none of these CC's had any traffic. I also was outof town all weekend so I couldnt listen all day.

Today I got the CC freq of 151.3925.
Heard some testing on Talkgroup 6625 and 2665.
After about an hour I lost the signal. They may have turned the site off after testing.

Most of these are probably existing sites you were receiving due to the good tropospheric ducting that was going on. I was able to receive sites 1 and 2 of the Eastern Virginia Regional Communications system and pretty much everything in between that morning.

You need to make note of the site IDs when you receive them.

I had a strong feeling that I was getting ducting.

I have never seen a site id appear on my pro-96 even when i am near a site.
If I had my programming cable I could have ran pro96com on my laptop.

The problem with a lot of this is that the masked digial pretty much sounds the same if you don't pick up the voice components. You just have to keep trying them. I thought I got hits on 159.3975 and 152.0825 on Saturday night passing through that area but both turned out to be voice channels that I just wasn't receiving well. Thanks for snagging that CC!
