Welcome rs96 OK lets start simple with this and go from there. First lets find out if Ohio county is transmitting off there tower at this time. Even a non digital scanner will pick up the channel if it's broadcasting. In the database theres 8 frequencys listed, the first one being the only control channel (as of now) 453.5125 CC If you haven't programed that in yet do so! The scanner while in the "Manual" mode will pick up a rapid static noise if the tower is in use. If you have all the frequencys programed in and your in the "scan" mode the scanner will not pick up the tower. The tower could also be using one of the (7) other frequencys as a control channel. So with all (8) frequencys programed in, "manually" step thru each channel, listen for the static/noisy channel.

I'm up here in Steubenville, maybe 10 or so miles almost line-of-sight from the Ohio County site, and I don't pick it up very well, either. I'm getting between 40-80 percent decode, and no trunking off it, although PRO96com says it is connected. For some reason, I can drill the Fairview site with the stock antenna-80 to 90 percent decode. Maybe it's radiating back to the south/southeast, and we're on the back side of the radiation pattern?

Gotta come back on the CC stuff first! BTW it's set to MO. Can't be helping you if it's a one way deal! If you do get the CC and you want to get everything else set up.
