I hope this isn’t considered a dumb question, but is the system referenced as “State of Oklahoma DPS / City of Tulsa System” at http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&sid=844 going to eventually become the statewide interoperable system or is another project in the works? Also, has anyone heard of a tentative timeframe as to when to expect such a system to make it’s debut in the NE part of the state.

Thanks,
MS

Thanks for the info. Now I have a little background to work with when our firefighters association starts looking into the subject. It looks like that it is mainly utilized by law enforcement and EMS. Is this system mainly for law enforcement or will it also be utilized by fire departments?

The system is suppose to be used by all first responders eventually.

Hey, I have an idea! Instead of clogging up the Arkansas River with a man made island full of overpriced housing, we use the $788 Million to get ALL of the Police, Fire, and EMS Agencys in Tulsa County (that aren't already) on the DPS/Tulsa TRS! How's that PJ?

I think the $788 million should be given to me to best decide how to spend it. Just a suggestion.

The Norman, Edmond, and Shawnee systems will be merged with the system and in those cities, that includes Fire. The City of Moore just joined the system, so their FD is on now. Noble coming on board? Could be.

Tulsa FD is there, of course.

Where did you get the idea it was "mainly utilized by law enforcement and EMS"?

It's everybody.

Just a glance at the user list on the page http://www.radioreference.com/module...ame=RR&sid=844 looked like the majority of users were law enforcement. After I posted, I looked again and saw a few FD's listed, my mistake.

Hey guys 700 is better, there is more space in the system for data, imaging, and wireless communications. Plus you can add more agencies to the system. But once the 700 gets on line where I live I know that it'll be obsolete. That's today's technology.
