What frequencies are you recording? What scanner are you using? Are you searching a range of frequencies or scanning individual frequencies?

Using the SDR/Airspy, this question might get better responses in the SDR Forum rather than general scanning. Some people with knowledge to best answer your concerns may only monitor certain threads.

Please click on REPORT in the lower left corner of your post and ask for this to be moved, don't start a new thread as double posting is discouraged in the forums.

How are you recording it? I did a recording that had about 1.4 MHz bandwidth as a raw recording, and it clocked in at 2 GB for 15 seconds worth of data. Roughly 135 MB/s bitrate. What I'm getting at....while in playback mode, I could tune to any part of the 1.4 MHz bandwidth, static or signal, and do anything I wanted, just like it was live.

More info needed on the recording method please.

Edit...my recordings are .wav files. When played back in a music player, they are nithing but static. Try replaying them in SDR # or Console

You're talking about baseband recordings. I think the OP was talking about audio recordings

You want to record audio when playing back baseband recordings? I'm not sure I'm understanding what you want to do.

Sorry but that explains nothing we didn't already know. You say you are using the audio recorder but say you're "on about" baseband recordings. Which one is it?

Both produce very different .wav files which aren't interchangeable between baseband and audio.

To get any further, you'll need to explain exactly what you are doing.

That seems to be the right recorder to use. I just recorded some AM Airband traffic and it plays back fine. I can't replicate the scanning here so as an experiment; find an active frequency and record it - no scanning. See how the playback is and report back.

What makes you certain the audio recorder is recording when there's nothing heard on play back?

We need to break this down to find the problem. ETA it might help if you could explain where baseband recording comes into this.

You do have a point lol how do I know it’s recording the problem with sdr sharp is that it has 2 recorders and perhaps I’m using the wrong one I’m using audio recorder there is a person on YouTube who I watched go get it working

audio recorder records audio. baseband recorder records the current RF spectrum - it's basically recording the actual radio signals not audio.

Looks like you want audio so you're using the right recorder. I was confused by your comment that you were on about baseband recording.

Record one signal and let us know. It will hopefully narrow problem solving to the scanner part
