I have a Uniden SDS-100 and have turned-on the recording feature with the battery installed. I have it set to record at the maximum length (120 Seconds), and I've noticed that when a radio transmission IS recorded, and I go to settings--->Replay Options--->Review Recordings, it'll say "No Recording Session Press Any Key" but yet, when I hit the replay button on the radio, it replays however many transmissions it captured.

I'm making a reasonable assumption I'm doing something wrong, and that's why it gives me that error message.

What is it I'm getting wrong?

How did you turn on the recording feature? Did you press Func then Replay while scanning? Does REC show on the display to indicate the recording feature is active?

Yeah, and when I do that, I get the same error message.

Yeah, and when I do that, I get the same error message.
If you can hit replay, and listen to recordings, then you are not in “Rec” mode. When you have the scanner set to record all transmissions, the replay button will not work.

You’ll get an error message:
“Replay
Cannot Replay While User Recording”.

When you set up Recording, to capture all transmissions, you hit the Function key, and while you can still see the F (for Function being activated), hit the Replay button. You’ll get an on-display prompt to confirm that if you do want to activate recording, hit the E/yes key. When full time recording is active on the SDS series scanners, you’ll see “REC” at the bottom of the display, white letters on a black background, when a transmission is being recorded, that changes to black letters over a white background. On the x36HP series scanners. you’ll only see “REC” on the bottom of the display when it is actively recording. Unlike the SDS series scanners, REC only appears on the x36HP scanners when recording is in progress. That drops off when the radio resumes scanning your Favorites list (or main database if you are not using Favorites.

It has two different recording systems, inner and user recording. User is the one when you use the recording button for a permanent recording and inner recording are the replay system that records everything but also erases them after the time you set, like 120 seconds. They use two different file folders on the SD card. It can only use one folder at a time so if activating a permanent recording the inner recording folder cannot be used and are empty and the replay function have nothing to show.

If you have the timed replay recording running and then start a permanent user recording, then Uniden have been smart (they always where when Upman where project manager) so that all recordings that haven't been erased and are still in the inner folder are moved over to the user recording folder for permanent storage.

Thanks for the explanations and the help, both of you!
I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was holding both the F AND the Record/Replay button at the same time, instead of hitting F and THEN the Record/Replay button.
