Made a quick trip to Stillwater today. Didn't have much time for radio recon, but I noticed a couple of things regarding two LTR systems in Payne County.

First, the LTR system in the database (Total Communications -- Stillwater System) had no traffic and no idle data bursts.

Second, there were idle data bursts on 856.7875MHz, 857.7875MHz, 858.7875MHz and 859.7875MHz. I didn't hear any traffic, and there are several businesses licensed on these frequencies.

Anyone up there hear aything on either system?

Never heard a thing on the Total Radio UHF system. Been scanning it on a nonpriority basis (i.e., when nothing else is going on) for a couple of months. I've left it up with the scanner hooked up to the computer several times, no activity reported.

As for the second, that's a new one for me. I'll see what I can come up with when I have the time.

FYI: checking the license, there is a 5th frequency on the license, 856.8625 MHz. Started trying to document the system, got a morse ID on TG 0-17-253, missed the channel number. Will keep working on it! :D

Other licenses

Did you notice there are 8 additional licenses for these same frequencies in Stillwater? They are WPUW300, WPUW208, WPUT911, WPUW526, WPUT778, WPUW247, WPUT921 and WPUT909. These are listed to RUPP, KORY W (Farming and Ranching), PC CONCRETE (production and delivery of ready mix concrete), PERRY READY MIX, INC (concrete business activities), CIMARRON MECHANICAL, INC (installation and maintenance of plumbing systems), GRISWOLD, JOHN G (Farming and Ranching Activities), KERNS CONSTRUCTION INCm(delivery and application of asphalt and ready mix concrete), QUALITY WATER SERVICE (Pool and Spa Retailer) and SOBER BROTHERS (construction), respectively.

I suspect this might be a continuation of the old practice of assigning a license to each user of a community repeater. This was done in case one of the users ran afoul of the FCC, the repeater owner could still keep his license.

Anyone listening to the system might keep these possible users in mind.

Yeah, been checking the traffic against that list, hoping to make it easier to ID the users. So far, in addition to the one confirmed user I sent in with the LCNs, I've logged 9 other TGs, two of which are some kind of concrete co. (three possible licensed users). As I can confirm who is who, I'll submit them. Do you want the unconfirmed info? If so, I'll post it here. Back on 12 hr shifts, so it'll be a couple of days before I get back on it.

talkgroups

Mark--

If you have some confirmed talkgroups, it wouldn't be a bad idea to post them here. It might give some others a chance to help figure them out.

I removed the UHF system since it had no activity. Let me know if you hear anything on it.

That sucks about the 12 hour shifts... until you get your time off :).

OK, here's what I have so far:

0-05-065 Unknown concrete company/delivery
0-05-011 Unknown concrete company/delivery
0-05-007 ?
0-05-008 ?
0-05-014 ?
0-05-061 ?
0-05-062 ?
0-05-063 ?
0-05-064 ?

The first two had enough traffic that I was actually able to make an educated guess as to the type of operations, talking about delivering the load to the construction site, composition of the mix, washing out the truck, that sort of thing. The rest had excedingly short and/or cryptic messages that made it impossible to even make a guess as to the user. So, if anybody can come up with some more information, go for it!

West of the Muddy Creek, East of the Big Hill.
The data being heard might be from the dispatch office to a data terminal in the truck.
The same type of set up is used by the Mid-Continent Concrete #1 System here in Tulsa.

Alot of taxi cab companies use a data terminal that transmits over a given frequency such
as 152.280. At times the one used by the taxi cabs sounds like a LTR system.

Checking the licensed users, five of them are in the Ponca City area, so perhaps somebody up there will take on the task of figuring out who some of them are. I believe I have identified one of them, 0-05-011 is a concrete company working in the Ponca City area, so perhaps it is PC (or Ponca City) Concrete. As for the rest though, I don't know enough about the Ponca City area to say.
