Stolen RCS radio message heard

I just heard the message that plays when a lost/stolen radio is keyed up. It was on the San Diego RCS talkgroup 11536- Rancho Fire Dispatch.


The message played twice, and stated a phone number to contact and receive a $100 reward for returning the radio.

Just a note on this topic...

RCS has a new 'Lost Radio' voice for it now. It's now a female voice.
It was changed sometime in March,2010

Actually, the REWARD TG message is now bilingual (which immediately brought in two or three recoveries) and we updated it in February.

Hey Don,

Just out of curiousity, on a system the size of the RCS, how many radios wind up getting lost or stolen per year on average? Do all of the lost ones get turned in?

I don't have the stats on the lost/stolen radios (I don't normally see the shut-off requests from the users). We recover 3-4 a year, based on the last 4 years.
