Anyone know of active frequencies during and after storms? I wish I had a scanner last year during the big outage and now that we are supposed to have a storm today I was thinking it would be educational to hear repairs/ people talking about the storm. Thanks for reading and hope to hear back!

well, where are you at on the east side of Washington we do have storm watchers and on the west side we do not, you are asking about skywarn and can be found here, but they are on the east side only as far as I know.

I am located in the Redmond area, so I will not be able to tune in. I might try to pick up sky warn over here but I am kinda doubting that I will be able to pick it up. Thanks for the link.

i know that this is kind of outside of what you are asking but have you ever tired weather bug it is a very cool program that you can use on your computer that can give you updates about the weather from schools in your area, where I live the school in Right down the street and it is very good stuff about the weather and is full of feature's. here is the link.

watch all the city government and PUD stuff thats where you hear the city calling PSE and flooding streets and trees down, etc. , as for the power company (PSE) they are mostly nextel now there is a trunk EDACS I think but I never heard anything on it during storms.

also normally disp. channels will have good info.

the media thread posted in this area

until there is a state of emergency or flooding you wont hear anything from the fed government. but then look at SAR channels and EOC they will hold the major local traffic.
