Heard the same on 311.0 today at about 0930 post, from my location near Eureka, Ca. on the west coast. Sure enough a look on globe.adsbexchange showed an E6 straight offshore from this location at about 130 miles distant.

Same thing again today. This time the E6 was way further south than the last time and was 257 miles distant from my location, received somewhat in the noise but 100 percent readable. Frequency was again 311.0 am, 1300 Pacific Standard Time.

Obviously depends on line of sight range for UHF to get the rebroadcast from aircraft but the FDMs can be heard daily and easy enough to hear all around the world on HF.
As others have mentioned, they relate to other aircraft and not just the E-6Bs

At 21:00 there were two repeats of earlier messages - each 'standard' 30 character examples and not addressed to a specific station. These are what you will have heard being rebroadcast from the air.

As I mentioned, you should always check 323.8 as usually these are transmitted simultaneously on 311 and 323.8. Sometimes one frequency will be stronger than the other due to antenna placement on the aircraft.

311.0 321.0 323.8 i almost always have them on.

Problem is a scanner will stop on one and not see the other--usually the first frequency in programing if the two are programmed close together. I have not heard 321 in a long time here.
