Well it's appearing as if streamwebtown got in a little over there heads. There streams have been very unstable over the last week with all feeds going down for hours at a time almost everyday. Hopefully there working on the problem.

I have noticed this too seems the server keeps going offline and I have to restart Microsoft Encoder. I also noticed the other it was lagging bad my web media player was going off and on. So far today seems to be working good but I off to take my nap and it will probably be offline when I awake.

Serious issues here as well. Hard to gripe too much as it's free but it has been an issue that I hear about often from users. I am looking at some commercial alternatives, such as www.wavstreaming.com , that offer the service relatively inexpensively. It is such an advantage to be able to push to a remote server and save upload bandwidth.

I have been testing a stream on streamwebtown as well and have noticed a marked improvement in uptime over the last 4-5 days. The week before it was down quite regularly after a few hours. This week it has been very good. Hopefully, they have worked out the kinks.

P.S. Hard to complain with it being free though ;-)

Mine has been up for a little over 2 days straight. There is a vast improvement over previous performance.

Just checking to see if anyone has had problems in the past few days????

Running 45k with about 20-40 listeners a day from 6am on the 16th to 11:30 am 19th with one disconnection. That's been about average for me for the last two weeks. I can run about 3 days without disconnection. For me that is just fine. Especially for a free and simple service.

What other free stream services out there use Windows Media Encoder?
streamwebtown seems so simple, free and compatible, it seems too good to be true. Are there any other sites providing the SAME type of service?

I personnaly appreciate that the vast majority of listeners don't have to download special software - it's a point, click, listen which is VERY nice for the non-tech savvy folks out there that want to hear scanners.

How do you know how many connections you have? I thought they didn't have statistics.

Very unscientific, but I had a stats script on webpage that links to the feed. It didn't say how many were connected to the feed at once, just how many hit the webpage daily.
