I see there are files in the database if I have a subscription, would they work with my Home Patrol 2 scanner? I don't know what file extension is compatible with it. Thank You

Sentinel accesses the RadioReference database through an arrangement with Uniden. There is nothing for the user to download.

Does the Sentinel software update the favorites list like the EZ scan software updates the Scanlist?
No.

This has been kicked around a number of times. Uniden elected not to force Favorites list updates along with the database, because so many people, including myself, edit their lists to customize, or simplify, the names used. You're a premium subscriber. Set up your "My RR" 'home page' with the counties, trunked systems, and agencies of interest to you. Then, when you initially log into RadioReference, those counties, systems, & agencies that have been updated will be colorized. Green if updated in the past 24 hours, yellow if there was an update in the last 7 days. Quite often, the update is to 'background' details that don't show on the database [age, and make zero difference in how it needs to be programmed. You can ignore the change & move on.

Unless we're talking about a new system just coming into use, or a new user transitioning to an existing trunked system. you might need to take a handful of minutes to tweak your programming for a user or two. While the database updates weekly, I may go several weeks at a time without the need to change any of my programming. That's despite the fact that I monitor over thirty counties, forty trunked systems, and a dozen agencies for my area as well as areas that I occasionally travel to or through.

For EZ-Scan, it only updates information for systems and frequencies that you added via Library Update. If you manually created a system or added items not via the library, those would not get an update.

Thanks for that. I usually do the same thing but just by checking the Database. And to update the Sentinel Favorites is a real pain. I will definitely do what you suggested about the My RR page.

About the only time I update a system using the main Sentinel database is if it's a new or expanding system (several in my area fit that description) and there is a very large number of new entries to be added. If it's only one here, a couple there, etc, I can do it manually & more effectively (for me) than trying to massage the Sentinel database into updating a couple of items without disrupting others.

Absolutely on what Steve said. I spent a lot of time perfecting my Favorites Lists with alpha tags, department assignment, etc. I'd rather not lose that effort to an automated process. Existing systems do not change that often.

Onesies and twosies additional talkgroups can be done easily by hand. If the change is more substantial, then I can rename the system in the Favorites List, then import the new version in the same FL, which gives it a different name. Then I can copy and paste from the new to the existing. When finished, I delete the imported system.
