I'm driving out west with my daughter and will have my scanner with us. Are the RCMP encrypted?

I can only speak for Alberta , but Yes unfortunately RCMP are encrypted . When I take road trips I always monitor all the trucking channels Like LADD and Alberta Wide channels , They have saved me many times from speed traps and large accidents causing delays .
