Summit County made the switch from VHF to DTRS around 1:15 PM today. There isn't a patch with the old VHF channels, however users have multi-band radios so VHF may still be occasionally used (I heard a CSP unit come up on SC LAW a few minutes ago stating he was having issues trying to reach someone on the vhf channel so it sounds like the old channels are not being actively monitored by dispatch).

Additionally they are dropping "OPS" from their channel names (what was "OPS 7" on vhf is now "SC 7" on DTRS). There also seems to be some use of the state simplex channels as well. I heard some chatter on simplex 5 talking about a fire alarm panel... a few minutes later a fire alarm was toned out in Summit Cove and the responding units units used SC-5. I suspect simplex is in use by the school district at the elementary schools.

All of the Summit County talkgroups in the database are current, however I did submit 2 new ones just a minute ago:
12481 - SC 5
12482 - SC 6

Are they are mostly encrypted? I've pretty much given up the hobby up since I can't monitor my nearby fire station.

Tower-wise - Lake Hill tends to carry all the county talkgroups.

The Keystone site is hit-or miss for SC 4-9 (those are still being assigned out on fire/ems calls based on geography).

On occasion SC LAW & SC ES will affiliate with Squaw, but only for a short time which I suspect is due to EMS transports or someone going to/from work (The SO has take-home cars)

Dispatch channels are in the clear, if I recall they recently disbanded their county-wide swat team and some of the municipalities ended up splitting off to form their own critical response team (which is still in the process of being setup). Only time will tell on the encryption, for all we know they wanted to do the migration to DTRS first.

I will add that being able to hear all the fire/ems ops channels is an added benefit. The previous VHF ops channels had their own-repeaters and were not county-wide (In Dillon you could hear OPS-5, but not OPS-8. In Breck you could hear OPS-8 but not 5). I have also noticed Grand & Eagle Co Chs affiliate a little more on Lake Hill, likely due to the SO now being able to listen to neighboring jurisdictions.
