For being a facility that needs to invest in and improve track safety, it surprises me that they're sinking all this money into a new digital radio system. Not to say it isn't needed. It is ...... especially with multiple circuits and event areas that need autonomous communication. But there are places in each of the tracks that desperately need SAFER barriers and fencing to keep spectators away from places (pits, paddocks) where they don't need to be.

Oh man end of a era for them.Started going there to camp/ watch races in 1970 and in early 80s brought my scanner along!Really made the racing much more fun.I wondered when they would go digital...My pro 60 still programmed for the track and races but now live in TN. Been 6 years since last there. Was able to hear lots of stuff around the area on my scanner plus everything at the track!

Any update on the status of this new system? I think I will drop the frequencies into my 536 this weekend to see what I can hear. Hopefully, the repeaters will have a bit more power than the old analog ones, so I can pick it up at my QTH.

I went out there today on my motorcycle in some light rain. On my 325P2 witout DMR capability, 464.3125 was active with digital, but not 469.3125 like you would expect if being repeated. I know my 436HP is kind of screwed up but it was receiving other local signals between 450-470, yet nothing when parked on 464.3125 while it was active. ???
I had TYT DMR radio programmed with color codes 1 through 6 and both slots. No audio that way either. My next attempt would be with my Alinco which won't need precise programming to receive something if it is standard DMR.

I've had all 9 of the lower frequencies programmed into my 536 as a DMR system and have had the unit sitting in LCN Finder mode for about 10 days now. It's only found 2. I'm a bit dubious I'm even receiving the right traffic on those two frequencies, because I did some more digging and found there are at least 2 other companies using some of those same frequencies up in Martinsburg--Proctor and Gamble and some other business. My guess is the system is not live just yet and I've been receiving transmissions from others assigned to some of the same frequencies.

I was at the track this morning getting club radios ready for next weekend. I didn't have much time to listen to the track action. It might be CAP+, my 436HP shows CAP.
464.3125 seems to be the primary freq. 463.400 was also in use. Color code 5 is used, though I might've even seen CC6 used too.

TG126 sounded like the Washington or Jefferson Circuit. I noted it on slot 2. Did hear Washington mentioned, but the drift event is scheduled for the Jefferson. It's a circuit with at least 13 turns.
TG130 is the Main circuit, slot 1/2
TG108 Maybe the Shenandoah Circuit or Jefferson, also on slot 1. Nothing scheduled on the Shenandoah today. It think it was a bike event, so that would rule out Jefferson.

So the TGs aren't specific to a timeslot it appears.

The biggest surprise was that I could still hear it at the bottom on the east side of the mountain on Rt 7. Could still receive it some in Purcellville, so I can't imagine they're using a repeater at the track.

Dang...the legacy analog repeaters usually faded out by the time I'd get to 340 & 9 while still in JeffCo. Good range there. Thx for the post. I'll have to try and see what I can gather on it and get it into the DB.

Once I got the system entered into the database, I got it programmed into my 536 scanner. By 0415 security was talking about seeing UFO's across the sky above the tracks. FreqHopping I think you got it right. :)

Well, to be 100% accurate I think we should call it Summit Point Motorsports Park now. Even the old URL http:// www. summitpoint-raceway.com now gets redirected.

Also for general knowledge channels 12-15 in the MS HOT zone are the simplex analog freqs for each org. I didn't check to see what 2x4 is using. The ASRA freq likely isn't valid anymore because there is new ownership. They completed the deal a few months before the previous owner died. The new ownership is using Retevis RT-81s for DMR, but my 436HP couldn't find it, even in Closecall mode. ??Talk

I think the talkground/backup channels are the repeater inputs.

Thx....I was looking at the FCC licenses last night and there are a quite a few (10-12) base frequencies assigned to the same license. I'm fairly certain we'll find more LCN channels and as you mentioned which frequencies are used as simplex/backup/talkaround. It also appears there are two sites for the main license. They appear to be just a few thousand feet apart. I don't see any evidence that they have a site up on a mountain, although the repeater output is 100 watts with an elevation of 117 feet. I gave the range of the system about 25 miles which just includes Leesburg, since someone mentioned receiving it down there.
