Sunshine Communications Philadelphia VHF

I programmed this LTR system into my scanner a while back. Despite hearing reports that my Pro 97 would not be able to trunk track a VHF system, I am able to trunk track this system quite well. Various cab companies, construction companies, and even Jeff STAT Medevac use this system. In addition to the talk grouips already listed in the database, I have found several others. Here are the talkgroups I have found for this system.

Here is what I've been able to confirm tonight on this system.

(Delaware) County Cab uses the following talkgroups:

0-10-002 (Dispatcher)
0-10-208
0-10-070
0-10-222

I can confirm All City uses 0-20-156. Can't really figure out which talkgroups the other Taxi services use. Crescent Cab does not use this system. They use a non-repeater base mobile system on 502.2875 and 505.2875 with a PL of 173.8.

County Cab and Quaker City cab use the same dispatcher. Their talkgroups are homed to repeater 10. Mainline Cab uses talk groups homed to repeater 09. It appears as though many of the cabs themselves are each assigned a unique TGID and the last two digits seem to match the cab number (i.e. 0-10-224 is County Cab 24).

Some Updates

Here are some updates since the last time I posted. I've been able to confirm a few talkgroups for some of the Taxi companies.

All City Taxi
Main Dispatch Channel is 0-20-156.
Secondary channel is 0-20-150.

Maxwell Cab
Dispatch is on 0-18-063.
The cars themselves are on individual talk groups homed to repeater 18.

Philadelphia Coach Communications (215-744-7777)
Dispatch is on 0-14-002.
The cars are on repeater 14. Unlike many other medallion cab companies in Philadelphia, Philadelphia Coach Communications uses their own number system to dispatch the cabs. Some of the cars display this number on the rear number. For public identification purposes, their "P" number is used. The talkgroups used by the cabs are 0-14-cab number (i.e. cab 114 (P-1409) uses 0-14-114).

0-02-085 is dispatch for Northeast Yellow Cab or some other medallion cab company that operates primarily in Northeast Philly.

0-02-007 is an unknown cab service.
0-02-067 also sounds like a cab service.

There is a cab service in South Jersey (Camden Yellow Cab maybe?) that operates on 0-19-021 and 0-19-022. There are several other businesses on repeater 19 that I can't quite figure out.

City Cab Company uses an LTR Passport System in the 220 MHZ range. This system cannot be monitored by any commercially available scanner. I have it programmed in my scanner in conventional mode and I still can't really hear anything.

I'm still looking for either the home channel on the Sunshine System or frequency used by the following cab companies.

New Look Cab, Yellow Cab (267 number), Reliable Dispatch (215-884-TAXI), Bennet Cab (these cabs have numbers that start with an R), United Radio Dispatch (has active licenses for 151.490 and a 152 frequency - the 151.490 is the same as PSP TAC 2 and all I ever hear on there is Spanish with a 97.4 PL while the 152 frequency is up for termination for buildout failure), and anyone else in this area I haven't mentioned somewhere.

There is a cab service that operates on 464.250 (PL 210.7). This cab service appears to serve the King of Prussia and Exton areas. The frequency is licensed to Mobile Communications. Does anyone happen to know who uses this frequency?

Joe, I made some updates to the database listing for Sunshine Philly based on this thread.
Looking at all talkgroup in one table, I could make some guesses about some of the ID's, but I'll wait for additional submissions from others.

I don't monitor this system at all.

All of the unidentified talk groups in the 0-10-xxx series belong to either County Cab or Quaker City Cab. I have some more cab number talk groups and I will post them when I get a chance.

the 02-085 is millinion taxi/towncar ch 3
united cab is out of buisness the 152.405 mhz was used a little while early in the year
151.49 is one of the many spanish towncar services in phila union towncar they used to be on the
last 900 moto smr that was used last year and is decommisioned

This system actually has a pretty good range. This is partially why so many companies use it. I've been able to pick up this system from Morgantown in Berks County. There are at least 3 more Sunshine Systems in this area - Center City (152.345 and 152.390), Eagleville, and Malvern. Due to scanner limitations I only listen to the Roxborough System.

Philcop, are you saying that Yellow Cab and Victory Cab use the same radio channel? There is a 452/457 pair and a 463/468 pair licensed to Victory.

I've also been able to hear a Los Primos Car Service on 152.435 (PL 91.5) and is completely Spanish.

There are still several area cabs I do not have radio assignments on. The only cab company I know of in this area that does not use radios for communications is PHL Taxi.

The only cab company in the Exton Area is Great Valley/A-Car Taxi, which covers an area from Coatesville towards the Main Line under a couple of names. I've never seen a radio in any of A-Car's taxis, so I doubt that it's them.

There is a company called "Cabs Valley Forge" based in Upper Merion; it's probable that it could be them, though I've never used them.

Rainbow Cab in West Chester uses a Kenwood system, but I don't know whether they operate on conventional or LTR.
