As of 4/28 fire division switched from 154.9950 to 155.5350 thats just the rx side. CTCSS is still 167.9 and pager tones are still the same.

Some time next month the police division will switch 800 over to the horry county system from the myrtle beach communications system.

Thanks for the update. I'll pass it on and reprogram my radios as I'll be that way in a few weeks.

If you can update us on the TGs, that would be great. This is whats listed for them. I assume that's what they'll use as the other radios are already programmed with those TGs.

No.....they are currently still on the mb com sys, and I'm told they are going to remain there until further.

They also tell me they are looking into their own system. So we'll just have to see as changes come along I'll post it.

I'm cornfused now.

The RR listing states that Surfside beach uses the MB trunked system, but you said that they just changed their high band frequency. Is the high band 155 frequency just a simulcast of their fire dispatch talkgroup? Or do the units in the street still use high band? Or both? Or what?

It's confusing when it states that they use a trunked system, then lists all these high band or UHF frequencies without saying whether they are obsolete or not. I don't want to punch them all in for my trip through South Carolina only to find them all dead.

thanx!!

The fire side is still using hi band 155.5350 and the police side is on the mb com system. There is talk about them putting together their own system.

I'll let everyone know when I find out.

I have not been able to lock onto the control channel for Surfside Beach lately. I have all the frequencies listed in the database programmed into my radio but nothing. Did Myrtle Beach Communications change something?

I no longer live at the beach but stay in contact with them frequently.

They said that PD went back to the county system and are no longer part of mb coms.

Surfside PD have been using Horry County Trunked Radio System all day today (3/24/07), with TG 12016 for dispatch. I would imagine the TG's on the database are good for the rest of SSPD's communications, although I haven't heard traffic on any other than dispatch.
It looks like they have moved from MB comms to HCTRS after all.

Surfside Beach Police

I understand Surfside PD is now operating on the Horry County system, switching from the Myrtle Beach communications system. I have reprogrammed my scanner and set control channel to 857.2125. I have programmed talk groups listed under Horry Public Safety. However, I'm not receiving any traffic. I am for Myrtle Beach though as I understand they switching over too.
