I have all the frequencies that show up in the radioreference website for sussex county. I am in the Hamburg-Franklin area and am in the odd position of picking up transmissions for the tristate area. I am wondering if anyone can help me figure out what else I might be able to pick up in this area. We are near the borders of Pennsylvania and New York. I have picked up transmissions from Northampton County, PA, and Orange County, New York. I have a pro-94 handheld with the standard antenna. There are not too many websites that contain any information on what I might be able to pick up based on the terrain. I would greatly appreciate any assistance on this.

One website to checkout is wc2em.net/scanner. John updates the site often. Also, check the database here on RR.com.

Orange County, NY fire dispatch - 154.205 PL 123.0, 46.16 - 36 Control to Trucks.

I'm down in Newton, and I'm able to pick up more than I'd ever thought. The NYSP and PSP come in clearly, especially the NYS thruway. With their repeater system, I've heard them calling in from the CT border, and some of that can be quite interesting. I've also be able to get Wayne County, PA. You should also be able to pick up parts of Passaic county from where you are, and depending on your altitude, you may also be able to pick up closer to NYC. I've heard that you can pick them up an Route 15 in Sparta, so you may be able to get them from where you are.

I appreciate this, but I have these frequencies. I was asking more if anyone knows what I have a chance to get based on my line of site. I have a handheld and live in the Franklin-Hamburg area. I have recieved Northampton County Police, but can not seem to receive closer Monroe and Pike counties.
Thank you.

I am wondering what squelch setting you use when listening to the NJSP? I have mine turned fully clockwise as recommended. Also, is it necessary to enter the input frequencies when programming my scanner, or just the initial frequency listed in the first column on RadioReference's guides?

I am in the Franklin-Hamburg area, but I can no longer recieve the PSP. I used to live in Wantage and picked up more transmissions than one could ever listen to. I'm thinking that the loss in elevation killed a good part of these frequencies for me.

Or, the PSP stations that you used to listen to migrated over to the unmonitorable STARNet OpenSky (aka OpenScam) system.

The PSP locations in all of NE PA - Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne & Wyoming - are ALL very much alive on the VHF system.

I'm thinking it's the difference in your location/elevation now.
