Doing my head in a little trying to work this out....

FL no issue creating and turning them off on with the QK, however I have created them with copies of what is required from other FL (System/Freq/TGID) Which means a lot of duplicates.

What I was looking to do was create a FL called Systems and have each of the P25 sites in there assigned with different QK's. I'll deal with Departments later, I do have one D-0

Works Ok, FL(F-0) P25(S-0) currently set in ID Search.

It scans the P25 Site Ok, I know most of the TGID off by heart, so I know it's working. However if I turn off the System .0 or the FL, I'm unable to turn the System back on, unless I go and turn it back on in Set Quick Key Status. It doesn't even appear as an * in S0 like F0 does.

Even without the FL on, only the System, same thing occurs.

Basically in the long run what I planned to have set up was still FL's for the common stuff, but would like to have System/Departments, so I could do .1.2 .1.3 etc for the various Systems/Departments I wish to use at the time. The P25 System near me carries most of the content I listen to anyway, but there are some other P25 systems I would like to look into.

As this is mainly a home based scanner, a GPS would be of little use, plus we have been through so many Covid lock downs with distance limits.

Am I on the right track with what I'm trying to do or am I barking up the wrong tree?

For what it's worth I'm based in Australia, so we really don't have a Main Database, most of the System in RR I already have anyway.

Thanks

Hi & welcome to the RR forums:
If system with QK 0 is the only enabled system in Favorites List QK 0 and you turn it off by pressing .0, you will then need to press 0.0 (Favorites list.System QK) to re-enable the system in that particular FL. If other systems are enabled and you turn off system 0, you can then re-enter .0 to turn the system back on but there needs to be at least one other system enabled for the combo .0 to work. Hope this makes sense. See also Understanding Quick Keys in the easier to read manual here

Thanks, makes sense, 0.0 works.
I tried to be smart and create a Blank S-7 to keep an enabled system, with either no Freq or one, but it needed ID search to be on for the .0 to work, otherwise it would kill S-7 as well. Something to play with anyway, maybe just an unused TGID.

At least I'm moving forward...

Thanks
